Murat Aygün completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University, Faculty of Law in 1997. He further completed a master's degree in law (LLM) at the American University Washington College of Law in 1999 and has been member of the Istanbul Bar Association since 2000.

He has an experience of 25 years in real estate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law, and project financing. He provides legal advice to local and international clients in numerous large-scale and high-profile real estate and M&A deals. He is appreciated by the clients for his extensive legal knowledge and clever understanding of the economic and business aspects of the transactions that both lead him to present the full picture to his clients. Mr. Aygün is also known for his talent to handle complex matters with his “think outside the box attitude” as well as his solution-oriented and analytical thinking that expedites the transaction processes.

Having worked as a partner in a reputable law firm for 15 years and been ranked as a Leading Individual by Legal 500 for consecutive years, he co-founded Abcoo Law Firm in 2015.

He has been involved in countless M&A deals in various sectors, such as technology, real estate, manufacturing, retail, and transportation. He has also represented the Founder as well as the the gaming company during the sale of 100% of its shares for a value of USD 1.8 billion to a global US gaming company. By such acquisition, the client company has become the first “unicorn” of Türkiye in the technology sector.

He has also worked in financing transactions including syndicated loans, acquisition financing, and various forms of secured financing, and been providing legal services to numerous local and international companies in corporate and commercial law.

In real estate, among various projects he has led, Mr. Aygün represented a global property group, in the acquisition of a shopping center for USD 860 million, which was then the largest asset transaction in the history of European real estate market. He also represented a development group in its investment of USD 2.7 billion in its real estate development project, which consists of residences and a hotel, and the same group in Süleymaniye Renewal Project, an urban transformation project on a land of 102.000 sqm and located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul.
